Mogwai back in the studio again

As those following their various Twitter accounts will already know, Mogwai have returned to the studio today.

Stuart's clearly indicated that this is not the start of work on the next album.

Update - "I played a wee bit of guitar and did some singing yesterday. Fuck all today" (Stuart, 10th August)

Update 2 - Mogwai resumed recording at the Castle Of Doom in Glasgow during the first week of October 2012

Rått og Råde - 23rd August

Mogwai have been confirmed to play Rått og Råde in Stavanger, Norway on 23rd August 2012. Other acts playing the same day include Patti Smith and Katie Melua.

Mogwai to remix The Cure

Robert Smith confirms that 'Mixed Up 2', a new album of remixes of Cure songs, will include a Mogwai remix of 'Faith'. The album is due to be released before Christmas. Stuart has confirmed Mogwai's participation via Twitter

ERRORS ANNOUNCE 'NEW RELICS' MINI-ALBUM & OCTOBER TOUR

Errors have announced the release of a brand new 8-track mini-album due for release on Rock Action Records in October and UK tour including a show at Heaven in London. The new record entitled 'New Relics' follows on from the critically acclaimed 'Have Some Faith In Magic' released earlier this year. 'New Relics' was recorded by the 3 piece during the Spring of 2012 in their Glasgow studio and will be released via Rock Action Records on CD, 12", Digital Download and a VHS version limited to 200 copies only that will see the band collaborating with Rachel Maclean (director of their stunning Pleasure Palaces video) and other visual artists to provide a unique visual representation of their music. The VHS version of the mini-album will be available only from selected stores as well as directly from the band's online store.

The band have previewed the album by hosting a sample track 'Relics' via their website which features guest vocals from Bek Oliva of Edinburgh based band Magic Eye.

Way Out West - 9th to 11th August

Mogwai are confirmed to play this year's Way Out West festival in Gothenburg, Sweden. The festival runs from 9th to 11th August. The exact date of Mogwai's show is not yet confirmed.
