T In The Park

Marking the 10th anniversary of their last appearance at the festival, Mogwai have been added to the line-up for this year's T In The Park in Balado, Kinross.

Mogwai are scheduled to perform on Sunday 12th July, the same day as Blur, coincidentally the headliners when Mogwai last played TITP. Wonder if there will be any 'controversial' t-shirts on sale this time?

Tickets on sale this Friday (27th Feb) from all the usual places.

Zidane on UK TV

'Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait' makes its UK TV debut on Wednesday (25th Feb). The film, complete with Mogwai soundtrack, will be shown on BBC4 at 10pm.

Tonight's scheduled Grafhit broadcast of Mogwai's recent Strasbourg show has been postponed.

Beaucoup d'entre vous l'attendait! Malheureusement, nous sommes contraints de reculer la diffusion du live de Mogwai que nous annoncions la semaine dernière. Moffat vs Braithwaite (slight return)

Aidan Moffat & The Best-Ofs 'How To Get To Heaven From Scotland' album is released by Chemikal Underground on 14th Feb 2009. Amongst the contributing musicians are Stuart Braithwaite (guitar) and former Delgados (and Chemikal bosses) Stewart Henderson and Alun Woodward.

Crippled Black Phoenix play US shows

Crippled Black Phoenix have lined up a two-week tour of North America's eastern states, commencing in Chicago on 2nd April. Details on the confirmed dates can be found here:

It's currently unclear whether Dominic will be playing bass on part or all of this tour, as Mogwai's touring commitments may prevent this. Further details when we have them.

De Rosa remix

Now streaming at http://www.myspace.com/wearederosa, Mogwai's remix of De Rosa's 'Nocturne For An Absentee'.

De Rosa's second album 'Prevention' is released by Chemikal Underground on 2nd March, accompanied by an ever-growing list of live dates - check the MySpace link above.

'Nocturne...' will be the first single from 'Prevention'. The Mogwai remix will probably be the b-side. The single will be out in late March/early April to coincide with the tour.

update: The remix was completed by Barry Burns, who also plays on a number of the tracks on the 'Prevention' album. Thanks Neil.

Dublin shows

Mogwai in Dublin just confirmed on radio show on Today FM. Three shows in March at the Academy on Middle Abbey Street. The weekend of 20-22, expect around €30 per ticket. Please note its a small enough venue about 500 capacity.

Irish tour

Stuart posted on the forum last night, suggesting the announcement of an Irish tour is imminent.

Unfortunately it seems unlikely that these will be part of a wider UK tour. The three year wait continues.
