Mogwai at Glastonbury on the BBC
Mogwai play Glastonbury Festival on Saturday 28th June, headlining the Park Stage (23:00 - 00:15)
2014 marks the tenth anniversary of John Peel's last appearances amongst the BBC presenters at Glastonbury. Still very much missed.
BBC coverage is usually extensive and high quality. Excerpts from Mogwai's set are already scheduled to feature on Stuart Maconie's BBC 6Music show (Saturday, 21:00 - 00:00). If Mogwai's last Glastonbury appearance in 2003 is anything to go by, we can expect extensive BBC 6Music rebroadcasts of excerpts from the set for the next ten years.
Hopefully Mogwai's set will be broadcast on one of the BBC's 'Red Button' extra digital TV channels.
Thanks Markus. If anyone sees further info on Mogwai coverage, please get in touch.
Coverage of Mogwai's 2014 festival appearances has ranged from the exceptional (ARTE Concert at Primavera Sound) to the awful (101tv's shoddy low-quality webcast from last weekend's Best Kept Secret festival in the Netherlands) to non-existent (barely a mention of Bad Bonn Kilbi anywhere online).

Metallica: Are Shite
http://www.gigwise.com/news/91452/mogwai-discuss-thoughts-on-clashing-with-metallica-at-glastonbury:
Mogwai have spoken out about their opinion of Metallica headlining Glastonbury this year - saying that they don't see the fuss, but do think they're 'shite'.
The Scottish post-rock icons are set to perform at the same time as Metallica at this year's festival, and speaking to Gigwise backstage at Primavera Sound, explained their opinion of the metal heroes.
"I can't wait to hear that guy play the drums again - unbelievably bad," said multi-instrumentalist Barry Burns. "He's terrible."
Singer Stuart Braitwaite continued: "I just can't wait until we go all quiet and you can hear 'Enter Sandman' in the background, because we're on at the same time. I don't really see the fuss. They're a pretty big rock band and it's a pretty big rock festival.
"It would be good if they could go back in time to 1989. Metallica at Glastonbury in 1989
When put to the band their booking had proven controversial, drummer Martin Bulloch added: "Because they're shite."
- Check back soon for our full interview with Mogwai, discussing new music, more whiskey and progress on the soundtrack to the new series of The Returned
