Mogwai - first play on John Peel's show - 1996 - audio

Many thanks to the numerous folks who've already taken the time to contribute to documenting Mogwai's 2014 tour dates in the gigography.

A week or so before the tour started, I was contacted by Matt Claridge with some memories of the first Mogwai show he saw. Read Matt's comments here: Stoke-On-Trent, 5th June 1997

Matt has also passed on a recording of Mogwai's first-ever appearance on BBC Radio 1. John Peel played 'Tuner' from Mogwai's debut single on 23rd February 1996.

Sasquatch - 23rd May 2014

Stuart was interviewed by xfm last week. During the interview, he confirms that Mogwai are playing Sasquatch! Festival. The festival takes place over two weekends six weeks apart. Mogwai's North American tour itinerary puts them in the area for the first of those weekends, 23rd - 25th May. Shows in Portland (24th May) and Vancouver (25th May) mean they must be playing the opening day, Friday 23rd May.
